Arandel est un projet musical français. L'album In D (un clin d'œil à l'album In C de Terry Riley) pose les bases d'un dogme autorisant exclusivement l'utilisation d'instruments de musique et proscrivant samplers et autres instruments MIDI.
Préconisant également l'effacement du créateur derrière sa création,
Arandel est un projet anonyme, dont on ne sait pas précisément combien
de membres le composent.
À cet effet, toute représentation ou
identification de ses contributeurs y est donc proscrite, et notamment
les photos et captations vidéo des performances.
"InFiné is in that league of labels displaying the kind of audacity only to be found in true artists,"said Jarre."
Like the musicians it represents, it has kept on demonstrating how important it is to have a common vision, a common ambition in order to initiate and finalize groundbreaking projects.
"One of the tracks curated by Jarre is Rone's "Tasty City," a compelling production from his debut album, Spanish Breakfast.
Although it was originally released in 2009, the song remains a product of Rone's inventive imagination, something far superior than a snapshot of what musical trends were popular at the time. And for many people who have never heard the track, it will sound entirely fresh, as Rone explores a variety of genres on "Tasty City"—ranging from tech-house to ambient—without ever settling on one.
Parisian imprint InFiné turn six this year, and they’ve recruited the man behind 1970s electronic landmark Oxygène to help out with the festivities.
Previously responsible for releases from the likes of Apparat and
Downliners Sekt, InFiné have cultivated an eclectic roster over the
years, and have a nice line in releases which nod towards ambient music
without totally abandoning the needs of the dancefloor.
As Resident Advisorreport,
French electronica giant Jean Michel Jarre has been charged with
selecting and arranging his favourite releases from the label. InFiné by JMJ might
sound like a perfume, but it’s actually a 12 track collection of
previously released material from a host of label veterans.
Among the better known names featured are Mexican ambient veteran
Murcof, who contributes ‘Como Quisiera Decirte’, and
piano-meets-electronics outfit Aufgang. Other material comes from
playful French producer Danton Eeprom, Oxia and Rone, amongst others.

For the past 6 years, as a label, we have fought hard to
cultivate our unique sounds and spread them beyond the French borders.
As a new year begins, we thought it would be a good idea to ask a
leading figure of the Arts, who shares our ethics, to browse through our
wide-ranging catalogue and put together their own collection of InFiné
tracks. We loved the idea of having a fresh take on the music we
produce, enabling us to step out of our microcosm.
Jean Michel Jarre
accepted this rather odd proposal, showing he cares deeply about our
cause and the struggles that come with it.
Without the convictions and
beliefs he has always had and fought for, our lives would probably be
very different to how they are today!
InFiné selected by JMJ compiled 12 tracks taken from the catalogue of InFiné and will be released on 14th January 2013
Équinoxe (English: "equinox") was the second major-label album release
by French musician Jean Michel Jarre, released on Disques Dreyfus (with
license to Polydor) in late 1978.
The album reflects a day in the
life of a human being, from morning to night.[citation needed] Parts 1
to 4 (i.e. side A) and tracks 5 to 8 (side B) segué smoothly from one to
the next.
Jarre had developed his sound, employing more dynamic
and rhythmic elements, particularly a greater use of sequencing on
basslines. Much of this was achieved using custom equipment developed by
his collaborator Michel Geiss.
The release was followed by a
concert on the Place de la Concorde, Paris on July 14, 1979. The concert
attracted 1 million people, becoming Jarre's first entry in the
Guinness Book of Records for the largest crowd for an outdoor concert.
Two
singles were released from the album, "Équinoxe Part 5" first, and then
"Équinoxe Part 4". Part of "Équinoxe Part 8" has been played live with
different arrangements, including a version for an acoustic street
organ, under the title of "Band in the Rain".
The album reached #11 in the UK charts and #126 in the US charts.

Les Granges Brûlées ("The Burned Barns") is an album by Jean Michel Jarre, released on Eden Roc in France and Canada in 1973. It is the soundtrack to the film of the same name starring Simone Signoret and Alain Delon. In 2003, the album was re-released on CD by Disques Dreyfus.
The Twelve Dreams Of The Sun was a concert held by musician Jean Michel Jarre on the Pyramids of Giza, Egypt starting on December 31, 1999 and carrying overnight to January 1, 2000. It was attended by 120,000 people. The concert consisted of two parts, the Main Concert and a Sunrise Concert. The concert cost approximately $9,500,000 and it originated when Jean-Michel Jarre was contacted by the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak with a special project to celebrate the dawn of the new Millennium at the foot of the only remaining monument of the original 7 Wonders of the World - the Great Pyramids.
Jarre's team had developed giant projections to be displayed on the faces of the Great Pyramids, however a heavy cloud of fog made the pyramids almost invisible, so most of the projections were discarded. Parts of the concert were broadcast live on TV stations around the world.
